Linus van Pelt

This week Linus van Pelt (the peanuts cartoon) is the winner for “Man of the Week”.

Linus shows manly qualities by being the philosophizer of his friends. He is brother to the meanest girl on the show, Lucy, and also is made fun of for his “security blanket”. However, through all the strife Linus is continually pointing his friends to observe the higher purpose of what is going on around them. The classic example is when Charlie Brown asks “What is the true meaning of Christmas?”

Even during Halloween, Linus is unwavering in his beliefs.

Linus, you are a man in the making

tip o’ the hat.

Nick Offerman, better known as Ron Swanson from the show Parks and Rec, is man of the week.

On screen Ron Swanson is an all consuming man. Showing manliness from teaching children how to become “Spartans and even Swansons” to having an office filled with war paraphernalia, to fearlessly eating any breakfast in his path.

However, off screen Nick owns and operates his own woodshop. Nick shows several great qualities men should look to cultivate. Nick is an actor, with great humor, and also has the ability to show a manly swag, with a great mustache. Also, he crafts beautiful tables and the like from his own shop. He knows how to handle his business and does it with pride.

tip o’ the hat Nick
